Keiko Ashida brings her rich experience from the traditional pottery town of Mashiko, Japan. Under her guidance, you'll explore and master pottery techniques vital for crafting a vase. Understand the crucial role a vase plays in Ikebana. This workshop empowers you to create a vase that is not only a piece of art but a functional element in your future Ikebana arrangements. The vase you craft will be professionally fired and glazed at the Clay Art Center, ensuring a high-quality finish. This personal creation will be a lasting memento of your journey into the fusion of Ikebana and pottery, ready to be used in your future arrangements.

Workshop Features:

• Learn slab and coil techniques for crafting elegant Ikebana vase.

• Personalize your creations with a range of glaze options.

• All creations will be professionally fired and glazed by the Clay Art Center, ready for collection within 2-3 weeks.

• The workshop fee includes all necessary tools and materials for pottery making.

About Keiko Ashida:

Keiko Ashida, a distinguished potter trained in Mashiko, Japan, and a graduate of Musashino Art University in Tokyo, brings her extensive experience and passion for pottery to this workshop. Having honed her skills through apprenticeships in Mashiko, Keiko has showcased her work in numerous solo exhibits across Japan. As a teacher at the Clay Art Center, Keiko emphasizes the fusion of technique and design, ensuring each creation is not only beautiful but functional. Her engaging teaching style, marked by rich collaboration and joyful learning, makes her classes a memorable experience.
